Dear members and clients,
Since the Federal Law on the Free Circulation of Lawyers came into effect in June 2002, in-house lawyers are no longer permitted to plead before the courts. As a result, INFOSUISSE has been using the services of outside lawyers to defend your interests. Although we have managed with this solution until now, its main drawback has been that the independent lawyers acting for the Company were not always familiar with the intricacies of the watchmaking industry. This problem has taken on a new dimension recently as your litigation needs have evolved.
In order to meet the challenge and to provide you with the specialised expertise you require, Mr Christoph Künzi, with the full support of the Board of Directors, has decided to resign from his position as Managing Director and head of the legal department at INFOSUISSE, to set up his own law firm as of 1 May 2016. Mr. Künzi therefore left us on 30 April after 17 years with our Company, to become an independent attorney. His new firm, CBK LAW, will be located on the ground floor of our building at Rue du Grenier 18, in La Chaux-de-Fonds. In view of his new status and his extensive experience, the Board of Directors felt that Mr. Künzi should handle the files he has been dealing with up till now. As an independent attorney, he will continue to offer the usual services, such as debt recovery, preventive advice, contract drafting and alternative dispute resolution, to our members and clients as well as the general public. In addition, he will now represent his clients before courts throughout Switzerland and act on their behalf in foreign jurisdictions.
What happens next?
Nothing will change for clients using our Business Information and Intellectual Property services, other than the fact that, thanks to our new partnership with CBK LAW, they can now benefit from the services of an independent lawyer with specific experience and expertise in their line of business, who can represent them in court. Clients of our legal department will receive a letter from their new lawyer in due course.
INFOSUISSE would like to thank Christoph Künzi for his wise counsel and his commitment to the Company over the years, and wishes him every success in his new career. We highly recommend his services to our members and clients.
Ms Michelle Voser has been appointed as the new Managing Director of INFOSUISSE and will take over from Christoph Künzi on 1 May 2016. Ms Voser, who holds a degree in business economics, joined the Company in 2002 and was appointed head of the Business Information Department in 2009. She has solid connections in the watch industry and her extensive knowledge in the field will stand her in good stead when she takes over at the helm. We wish her every success in her new role. We would also like to thank you, our members and clients, for your continued trust and support.
We are delighted to be able to offer you this new partnership, which can act for you in court in the future should the need arise.
